Born in Singapore, raised in a remote Welsh valley, and now based in Macclesfield, Gareth is an emerging mixed media artist whose work is gaining increasing recognition among contemporary art collectors both in the UK and internationally.
Gareth's art combines various techniques, from photography and digital media to traditional pen and brushwork. His creations are deeply influenced by childhood memories, vintage textiles, street art, and an obsessive attention to detail. Eschewing traditional artistic constraints, he employs a diverse array of skills and materials to realise his vision.
His latest series, Urban Geisha, exemplifies this eclectic approach. Drawing inspiration from both street art and Eastern symbolism, Gareth reimagines the traditional Geisha for the 21st century. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted, incorporating layers of gold leaf, acrylics, Hanko stamps, Japanese postage stamps, and 3D relief tiles, all interwoven to create visually striking works of art.
