“My Work explores the relationship between light and dark, and how colour can manipulate structures. I like my work to give the viewer just enough information that they can understand the form whilst maintaining a contemporary abstract style” - Nick Quirke

Nick has dedicated much of his life to studying Fine Art, beginning at Byam Shaw School of Art and Design, now part of Central St Martins in London. Following his time in London, he relocated to Bristol, where he pursued and completed a BTEC Diploma in Fine Art at the renowned Spike Island.

Nick's artistic journey has been deeply influenced by his fascination with light effects in the sky and reflections on water. This obsession has led him to develop a unique style characterised by vibrant, rich colours and bold impasto strokes that make the hues seem to burst from the canvas. His recent work ventures into innovative territory, blending graffiti-inspired paint techniques with traditional oil paints to create dynamic, textured pieces.

In addition to his artistic achievements, Nick is also a highly accomplished sportsman. In 2001, he was a key member of the Leander Rowing Team that secured victory in the Thames Challenge Cup at the Henley Royal Regatta.
