This is a small but intensely coloured original oil painting capturing the French countryside in August. The scorched earth is radiating heat from the effect of the day’s sun.
Janet’s uses vivid Cadmium Yellow and ochres along with bright greens against the clear blue sky with bold textured brush strokes to convey the view.
The painting has an impressive deep edged box frame in limed white with a warm oak inner mount forming the shadow gap. The framed painting is approximately 380 mm square x 40 mm deep.
