Kris Hardy
Kris Hardy is a highly accomplished cityscape artist, recognised for his striking and atmospheric interpretations of urban life. Raised in Nottingham, he developed an early fascination with architecture, inspired by the bold geometry and structure of the built environment.
His work captures the powerful contrast between the softness of landscape and the commanding presence of city architecture. Strong lines and confident tonal blocks are balanced with fluid, organic elements, creating compositions that are both dynamic and refined.
While best known for his iconic cityscapes, Kris is a versatile artist whose portfolio also includes figurative and expressive work, demonstrating both technical precision and creative depth. His celebrated automotive series, inspired by his design background, has been exhibited at Silverstone, further reinforcing his reputation across disciplines.
Working in oil, watercolour and acrylic, his distinctive palette blends soft pastel tones with deep, dramatic colour. His subjects range from global cities such as New York and Paris to renowned architectural landmarks.
Kris trained at the Royal College of Art after graduating with First Class Honours in Vehicle Design, and became a full time artist in 2003 following his work with Lotus. His work has gained significant recognition across the UK, with prestigious commissions for Boris Johnson and senior figures at organisations including British Gas and Bonnier in Chelsea.
